Glossary usage by final user

Hello,

We are using Qlik Sense SaaS and we want to improve our solution with Glossary filling terms and category. Each master measure will have a term linked, and so on..

We want enable these information for the finals user. How can a final user read terms and master measure descriptions?

@Riccardo can you provide an illustration of what you are wanting to accomplish?

For example, I'm a final user, so just a read user that can open Apps and view data on all the public sheet.

I see a KPI and I want to see a description of that KPI. As final user, can I see description of master measure or can I see the term description inside the glossary?

Thanks

Do you mean like a tooltip they could click on to get a definition?

Yes, like a tooltip, but native and integrated. Developer side I can link a master measure to a term into a glossary. I would like to publish it for final user, so final user can open the term, filled into a glossary, read and understand it.

So, would a custom tooltip not work? My apologies this is a bit outside my area so I apologize if I am missing something!

There are two things you will need to consider:

  1. The user needs to have access to the glossary. I.e: User has access to the space the glossary is in.
  2. You need to make sure "Show Details" on a chart is enabled. (Doc)
    1. Chart Properties -> Appearance -> Show Details -> toggled to "Show"
    2. treysmithdev_0-1731380155406.png

This will enable the information icon in the hover and "Show Details" in the right click menu:

This will then bring up the Details screen where the Glossary links are shown:
