How can I reinstall a patch for Qlik Sense

Hi,

I have update my environment from the September 2020 release SR3 to SR6. During the installation of SR6 the system didn't install the SR6 completely. The screen showed something like 'stopping services'. I waited for about 30 minutes and nothing changed. So I stopped and rebooted the server.

Now when I want to install SR6 again, the only choice I have is to uninstall SR6,not reinstall. When I choose to uninstall, it returns and error during the uninstall and it refers to the log (see attachment).

The error is 'Remove update failed. One or more of the files affected by the patch could not be changed. For detailed information see the log'

I also tried to upgrade to the November 2020 release, but it returns the same error saying that it can't uninstall the previous service pack.

How do I fix this?

Hi @heij1421 

It seems you are dealing with a broken QlikSense Enterprise installation; my suggestion will be to 'install it on a clean server' just to copy all the missing files reported in the attached log from that 'clean server' to your troubled installation.

Another option is contact Qlik Support for assistance; they may have those files ready available.

Whatever option you choose, once you recover the installation, re-install the product.

QlikSense installation are usually slow and you should be patient.
