How do I restrict users from publishing a QS app from the hub

Hello,

We recently upgrade to Qlik Sense June 2018, which allows users to publish an app from the hub, but I want to restrict users from publishing apps.  How do I turn this new feature off?

Check the access rights for the user.

Christopher, by default everyone has access rights to publish from the hub in version June 2018.  I am trying to restrict that new 'feature'.   I assume I need to modify a security rule, but not sure which one.

Post a screen shot associated to User role....

Or un-check Edit/Create check box in their security rule.

Or disable the default rule from Qlik and create your own by copying exactly the same rule except removing the action as create/edit

Shalbaz thanks for your response.   here is my question regarding your 3 solutions.

  • Our Users do not have publishing roles.
  • For which Security rule do i un-check?
  • Which default rule do I disable and modify?

I do not know how June 2018 Qlik Sense Enterprise has security rules.

Check for any user associated rules...

or Filter out on Publish in security?

Create and Update should be un checked or disabled for user roles.

resource.app.HasPrivilege("read")) <<< should only have the read

I do not know why Qlik Sense would enable users to publish the app?

Are you sure this is by default?

I cannot exactly guide you until I see the security rules... I myself do not have access to Security Rules section in QMC

Usually it is App.Object_*

Unhcekc Create box and check Read

But for this you either have to create Custom Properties associated to Apps/Stream & Users...

Check below post

How can I prevent users publishing sheets?

Do not disable any rule if you are not sure...

It will mess up other rules....

I believe I figured a solution.  I am able to mange who can publish by modifying the OwnerPublishDuplicate security rule.
