How to avoid variable reset after reload in published applications

I am on Qlik Sense Enterprise version September 2018.

I use variables to keep the state of input settings that control the visualization with the help of the variable extension (https://github.com/qlik-oss/qsVariable/tree/qlik-variable).

The variables are created in the visualization, not in the load script.

If I am on my working application, whenever I reload data, the state of the variables is kept after the reload. This is convenient as the user does not have to reconfigure all his settings after each reload.

However, on a published application, the behavior is different and the state of the variable is reset after each reload.

Is there a way to overcome this limitation ?

Thanks

It is not possible the retain the user selection. This is how the variable works.
You can set the variable value to some initial value which will always reflect the default state of the visulaization.

what is the alternate solution for this? Users are not able to use Apps due to this issue.
