How to best utilize QDF in a Qlik Sense only setup

We've been using QDF for our QlikView environments and it worked great. Early this year we decided to move to the Qlik Sense platform completely and started the migration process. During the process we start to feel that QDF in Qlik Sense is not so convenient as before, and it somehow prevented us from using the QlikView convertor tool. Can anyone share some insight about this or share some of their experience with any framework in Qlik Sense?

Any input would be appreciated!

Have you downloaded the QDF 1.7 that has an option for a Qlik Sense folder structure?

Yes, I have downloaded and am playing with it. But still not quite get the idea yet.
