Hi,

Long story short, NPrinting needs beside QlikView Desktop on same machine for opening QVW/QVF files for data. As I know you cannot create such connection, for NPrinting to reach other instance for QlikView Desktop.

Also remember QlikView Desktop which you install beside NPrinting needs licence from QlikView Server for NPrinting service account, so you need to open QlikView Desktop as service account and get licence.

Hi @Pallavbari258,

First thing I would check is whether the 10.10.10.10 server has QlikView Server installed, or only QlikView Desktop.

That matters because NPrinting connections are not created to a remote QlikView Desktop installation. If 10.10.10.10 only has QlikView Desktop, then there may not be a QlikView Server environment for NPrinting to connect to. In that case, you would normally work with the QVW file path instead, assuming the NPrinting Engine service account can access the file. But in that case, QlikView Desktop would need to be installed on the NPrinting server.

Qlik’s help page for QlikView with NPrinting is here:

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/February2025/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/NPrinting-...

Regarding the other comment: “Possible to create NPrinting connection for QlikView for both different server but I don’t know how to create such type of connection exactly”

Yes, Qlik NPrinting can be on a different server from QlikView Server / the QVW files. But the NPrinting Engine server still needs QlikView Desktop installed locally on the same physical or virtual machine as the NPrinting Engine.

So the key checks are:

  1. Does 10.10.10.10 have QlikView Server installed, or only QlikView Desktop?

  2. Is QlikView Desktop installed on the NPrinting Engine server, 11.11.11.11 as well?

  3. Does the NPrinting Engine service account have a valid QlikView Desktop license?

  4. Can the NPrinting Engine service account access the QVW document or QlikView Server document?

But let's confirm the QlikView host has the installation of the QlikView Server software first.

Hope this helps.

Please give it a like, mark it as Helpful or Solution if that was the case.

Got it @Pallavbari258 ,

Then you will have to install QlikView Desktop on the NPrinting server.

NPrinting will need QlikView Desktop anyway.

When you are there, let us know.
