Let and Set in Qlik Sense

Defining a variable within an expression (of an app's chart) would be hugely helpful. ( mostly to dodge some set analysis multiple variables up the chain). Is there anyway I can do that?

You can define variables from the Analysis view in edit mode by selecting the small x= icon on the bottom left and creating a variable that can be used in Master Items or expressions/measures

But is there a way to evaluate a variable in an expression so i can use it in later set expressions?

Yes, just call it inside a $( ) - dollar sign expansion
