Qlik Sense App Appears Responsive But Fails on Data Load Need Help

Hi Qlik community!

I’m Mark Pousee, and I’ve hit a puzzling snag in one of my Qlik Sense apps.

Here’s what’s happening:

The app interface seems totally responsive filters toggle, sheets load, everything looks smooth. But when I re-trigger a data load, it appears to get stuck, shows an incomplete progress bar, and then quietly halts. No errors, no crash, just... silence. And no new data gets brought in.

What I’ve tried so far:

  • Reduced the load script to just a single table same pause behavior.
  • Checked Explorer logs: nothing conclusive around the hang.
  • Verified data source connectivity everything (e.g., SQL Server) responds fast.
  • Restarted Qlik Sense services and tried again same situation.
  • Tested it on another server; behavior persists.

Any of you dealt with this “ghost freeze” during reloads before?

  1. Is it something like an incomplete meta-refresh, memory threshold, or partial repository glitch?
  2. Anyone check for script execution timeouts or hidden locks during reloads?
  3. Would switching to inline logging statements in the script help troubleshoot where it stops?

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s had to hunt down a “quiet crash” during a reload or better yet, a clever workaround!

Thanks so much in advance. 🙏🏻

Hi @markpousee ,

Have you tried running the app through a QMC task?

What are the results?
