Qlik Sense Load Scripts - fact & dimensions vs 1 single data table

I was wondering if there are any best practices around the data model for apps in Qlik Sense on the topic mentioned in the title.

Is it necessary/beneficial to have a model with a fact table and dimension tables? Are there any drawbacks of having load script manipulate the data and load all app data in one single table?
