I need to get the timestamp M/D/YYYY h:mm:ss[.fff] TT from today() but I cant get it to give me the hours minutes seconds part.

In a Text Object

=Timestamp(today(),'M/D/YYYY h:mm:ss[.fff] TT')

displays

9/11/2017 12:00:00 AM

But

=Timestamp(now(),'M/D/YYYY h:mm:ss[.fff] TT')

displays
