Total qualifier - Group By

I have a question.

For the total qualifier,

When you have:  Total <Field1,Field2,Field3>  should all these fields be present in the chart as dimensions?

I read the reference manual but it was not helpful.

The don't have to, but when you have them you they will be used by the total qualifier...

They should. However, any field listed that is not part of the chart dimensions will just be ignored.
