Types of file available in Qlik

Please suggest below questions

1. What are different types of files available in Qlik Sense and QlikView? , example  QVD, QVF and QVW

2.  What is the format of QVF and QVW if open in notepad++ example, xml, json etc.

3. Is Qlik Sense Desktop available for free or trial version?

4. Is Qlik Sense Server on premises available for trial? if yes, then how many days?

5. Is Qlik Sense Server Cloud available for trial? if yes, then how many days?

  1. QVD is a datafile. It contains a table that was exported via Qlik Cloud, QlikView or Qlik Sense.
    QVW is the old format for QlikView apps (formerly known as "documents").
    QVF is the current format for Qlik Cloud Analytics, Qlik Sense and QlikView apps.
  2. QVF and QVW's format is proprietary. They won't be readable via Notepad.
  3. As a rule, Qlik Sense Desktop is no longer free. As a courtesy, we currently offer an unlock file for developers on the Download Portal. That is subject to change at any time, though.
  4. We are no longer offering trials for client-managed products.
  5. Qlik Cloud Analytics (the "Qlik Sense Server Cloud" you mentioned) is available as a free, full-version 30-day trial.

Yes, if you have the permissions to do that. You can use either Export or Export without data.
