May be this

Sum({<vJCEKPI1 = {'A'}, Date = {"$(='>=' & DateCurrPeriodStart)"}, DorC = {'C'}>} DCAmount) +

Sum({<vJCEKPI1 = {'C'}, Date = {"$(='>=' & DateCurrPeriodStart)"}, DorC = {'C'}>} DCCount)

May be you only need $ expansion for variables

Sum({<$(vJCEKPI1) = {'A'}, Date = {"$(='>=' & DateCurrPeriodStart)"}, DorC = {'C'}>} DCAmount) +

Sum({<$(vJCEKPI1) = {'C'}, Date = {"$(='>=' & DateCurrPeriodStart)"}, DorC = {'C'}>} DCCount)
