time between meetings

i have a calculation that works out the time in days it takes for the start of the project date discussion, to the first board project meeting.

using e.g sum(Project Board Meeting Date) - Sum(Project Discussion Date)....e.g gives me 16 days.

after the board meeting, there are followup meetings.

i wish to calculate the number of days between these follow up meetings, until the project ID is over

please help

Dear Joanna

Dates are stored in QlikView (under the hood) as a number with decimal representing the number of days or part of a day. This facilitates what you want because if you take

31/12/2015 12:00 - 28/12/2015 00:00 you get 3.5 days

You can use the INTERVAL(FieldName,’dd:hh:mm’) to format 3.5 as 3:12:00

Basically you can add and subtract date fields as you will.

However beware – if your source data is in a format that QlikView cannot recognise as a date it will load it as TEXT and it will have a value of 0 ….:-(
