using zip codes as area layer in geoanalytics

I have a spreadsheet that has zipcodes (all within US). I'm having some trouble plotting these in the area map layer. I followed Qlik Dorks tutorial so I'm wondering do I need a shapefile to be included with zip codes? Can anyone guide me to any relevant sites/tutorials on how to set this up within the analytics connector or if it is even possible?

If you are using GeoAnalytics, in the ID, select the Zip code field as dimension.

Go to the Location options and Select Country (United States) and Type (Postal Code).

You can then color the area using a measure that is related in your data.

Hope this helps.
