variable input extension - Date

HI - 

I am using the 'Variable input' extension and I will like to create a variable input for a date.

Can the 'variable input' be used for a date ? If so, how ?

Hi, I only see it cam work showing as input box.

An alternatice can be using a calendar object with an island field with dates (not related to the model) and the varible referencing to that fied value.
