Temos um aplicativo aqui na empresa que reúne lançamentos contábeis desde 2007, e portanto, torna-se pesado.
Percebemos que mesmo que o usuário feche o navegador, a sessão dele continua 'Ativa' no server, consumindo memória.
Mesmo depois de fechar, ficou mais de uma hora com a sessão aberta no server e, para resolver, reiniciei o serviço QVS.
Alguém já viu isso?
Atualizei hoje o server para ver se resolvia, mas o problema continua. Segue os dados da versão atual.

Segue um artigo que fala em como matar a sessao ao fechar. Acho que foi o seu problema. Foi fechado o browser mas o QlikView "nao encerrou no server".

"an AJAX sessoin is not automatically closed if the browser is closed or the user navigates away from the Qlikview document. The actual Session timeout set in the Qlikview Server settings determines when the session is properly killed. In order to properly kill an AJAX session manually, the user has to close it using the Close button in the top right corner of the AJAX client. "

acredito que essa é a tecnologia do QlikView, manter em memória para não ser carregado novamente.
Mas você pode configurar para não ficar tanto tempo.
Em System->QlikView Server->Documents, tem a configuração de Document Timeout. Veja quanto tempo está lá.
