Qlik Catalog installation: Error when installing PostgreSQL

When installing PostgreSQL (section 2.4. of the User Guide (https://help.qlik.com/en-US/catalog/November2020/Content/Resources/PDFs/QlikCatalog_November_2020_Si...
), towards the end of the process I get the following error:

"Starting up server for authentication reconfiguration:
waiting for server to start....pg_ctl: could not start server
Examine the log output.
stopped waiting
*** ERROR *** altering admin user to authenticate by password failed, exiting installer!
... keeping temporary directory /tmp/podium_pg.tMHA6c
Please clean up manually."

Any hints?

Thanks,

Hi Bernardo,

This issue was discovered to be related to psql missing from the $PATH environment variable.
After amending the $PATH accordingly and setting the postgres user password in the installation / configuration file then the process was successful and you successfully installed Catalog.

Thank you for your time.
Kind regards,

Dimitry
