UTF-8 encoding is required

Getting "UTF-8 encoding is required" error while downloading a file from Amazon S3. I have tried putting JVM argument as -Dfile.encoding=UTF8 or UTF-8. But it is giving same error and it download a file with 0kb size. Please suggest some solutions.

Hi @monalisa samantaray

Is this error being thrown by tS3Get component?

Or is tS3Get component executing successfully and the error appears when you try to read the downloaded file with a t*Input component? If that's the case and you're able to download and read the file using an external application, I would suggest you look at the advanced settings of the t*Input component to check the possibility of changing the encoding.

Hello,

Would you mind posting your job screenshots on community and Could you please clarify in which Talend version/edition you are?

Did you tried to click the Run tab > Advanced settings > select Use specific JVM arguments > New > enter -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 or add just JVM argument as -Dfile.encoding=UTF8 in .ini file for the whole studio?

Best regards

Sabrina
