Data profiling is the process of examining the data available in existing data sources (e.g. databases, applications, files?) and collecting statistics and information about this data. Data profiling enables the assessment of the quality level of the data contained in the information system, according to a defined set of metrics and goals. The open source data profiling tool, Talend Open Profiler, allows business users or data management staff to define a set of indicators for each data element that needs to be analyzed or monitored. It produces sophisticated reports and graphs that let users gauge at a glance the level of quality of the data, and the status of the indicators that were defined. You are right, currently only Oracle and MySQL are supported. We will progressively add new databases as the product evolves. We have limited the current version to only two databases because behind the scene, SQL queries are executed and these queries depend on the database type.

I mean that a form for a new issue is not prepared for TOP. Product selection (TOS/TOP) not available and version of product is for TOS only (as a primary product, i know).
I'm looking for Informix and MSSQL connections, that's my preference.

TOP is "Talend Open Profiler", when you are in the bug tracker, you can choose "Talend Open Profiler" project at the top right corner in the combo list.
Then you will have access to the "Report issue" form for this project.

A user guide will be written by our documentation team and it will be accessible on our web site when finished.
But currently there is no other document than the "getting started" document and the dynamic help integrated in the software.
