Disabling Qlik GeoAnalytics Server - Migrate Qlik GeoAnalytics to QlikSense Maps

Hello Qlik,

Our Qlik GeoAnalytics licenses are expiring and we would like to switch back to Maps on QlikSense On-Premise. We currently use GeoAnalytics to load files from various formats (ShapeFiles, KML, CSV, etc.) with minimal/no transformations during loading (just a few selections related to distances). We also have some relatively basic visuals.

Our plan is to completely remove GeoAnalytics Server.

We saw that QlikSense On-Premise doesn't load ShapeFiles directly.

Is there is simple way to do the transition ?

Do you have any feedback or advice on this type of project?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Kind regards,

Raphaël.

Hi Raphaël,

As far as I know, Qlik Geo Analytics comes is included in new Qlik Sense Enterprise License. Are you sure your license is expiring?

A solution without GeoAnalytics could be to transform your SHP file to KML, using for instance:
https://mygeodata.cloud/converter/shp-to-kml

A KML file can be loaded into Qlik Sense without GeoAnalytics.

You may also use QGIS, a free GIS software product to convert your SHP file to KML.

Kind Regards,

Joost van Egmond

Hi Joost,

Thank you for your return.

The license that's ending is the one for GeoAnalytics Server. I don't know for other features relative to GeoAnalytics. By the way, that's actually my issue...

Regarding the tools used to convert SHP files, I already did some researches on this way and found the same solutions as you did.

Can you give me more details when you say "Qlik Geo Analytics comes is included in new Qlik Sense Enterprise License" ?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Kind regards.

Hi Raphaël,

To my knowledge Qlik GeoAnalytics comes most often for free when purchasing a Qlik Sense license nowadays, but I am not sure whether it applies to everyone. It’s worth checking with your Qlik account representative or reviewing the terms of your enterprise license.
