Geo Analytics - Issue with same city name in different states

Hi All,

I am facing issue in Maps while displaying data for city that are in more than 1 city like Webster. Aledo is in Texas and aledo is in illinois. It is giving correct if i use lat long info. But in data there are multiple addresses for single city that means multiple lat long for single city.

So with lat long info its not possible to solve this issue.

Please let me know if more explanation required.

Thanks.

Neha

Hi,

Provide more info in the location string to resolve the ambiguity:

=city & ',' & statecode & ',' & countrycode

See this thread for more details:

Thanks,

Hi,

Where can I find this Location layer you are talking about? I only have a point layer. I am trying to keep my data from appearing across multiple cities due to the same city names (ie Alexandria VA vs Alexandria Egypt). The data does not multiply, instead the same amount is shown for each city.

My source data does not include Country Codes; it has cities and state codes (VA, WA, PA, etc). How would I go about restricting my data to within the US and Canada using only city names and state codes?

All layers have location tab in properties as of Qlik Sense April 2018, from the screenshot it looks like you are running an older version.
Here's article that shows how to improve location lookup:
