Hi Qlik Community,
I am currently working on a map to display the places a ship has been. The data is not the usual latitude and longitude fields; they use degrees, minutes and seconds. I split the columns and with that I could plot the point on a map. However, these points are placed in Kyrgyzstan, and I know the location is in South America. Therefore, my sort of conversion I made is the one not working properly despite the fact that of a tutorial I followed. Is there any GeoOperation that can load this or any other way to process this data?
My script looks like this
Best regards

If you're encountering issues with your Qlik map displaying incorrect geographical locations, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take to address the problem:
Check Data Accuracy: Ensure that the geographical data in your dataset is accurate. Verify that the location names or coordinates match the intended locations. Any discrepancies in the data can lead to incorrect map displays.
Coordinate Systems: Confirm that the coordinate system used in your geographical data matches the one expected by Qlik. Using the wrong coordinate system can result in misplacement of locations on the map.
Update Qlik Map Settings: Review the settings in your Qlik map visualization. Check if the correct geographical field is selected, and verify that the map settings, such as the country or region, align with your data.
Geocoding Issues: If you're relying on address-based data, ensure that the geocoding process (converting addresses into geographical coordinates) is accurate. Faulty geocoding can lead to incorrect placement on the map.
Map Projection: Verify the map projection settings in Qlik. Choosing the wrong projection can distort the representation of geographical features. Ensure that the projection aligns with your data and the intended visualization.
Data Quality: Check for anomalies or outliers in your data that might be affecting the map display. Cleanse the data to remove any inaccuracies or inconsistencies.
Qlik Version and Updates: Ensure that you are using the latest version of Qlik. Software updates often include bug fixes and improvements that could address mapping issues. If not, check the Qlik community forums for any reported issues and possible solutions.
Reach Out to Qlik Support: If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Qlik support for assistance. They can provide guidance on troubleshooting specific to your setup and may have insights into known issues and solutions.
By systematically addressing these potential issues, you should be able to pinpoint and resolve the problem with your Qlik map displaying incorrect geographical locations.
