Hi All,
We have city 'San Juan' in 'Puerto Rico' country. We are showing bubble like 'San Juan, Puerto Rico', but that city is not plotting on map.
Qlik is not have this country on map where as on Google map 'Puetro Rico' is showing. Please consider below images:
Puerto Rico is coming in Google map
Puerto Rico is not coming in Qlik Map
We can not use lat long to display this 'San Juan' city on map. As you can see in above Qlik map, 'Puerto Rico' is not showing anywhere, in Google map 'Puerto Rico' is coming next to 'Dominican Republic'.
My Findings:
1. Checked on google and changed 'San Juan' as 'San Juan County'. But it will not resolve our issue.
2. We are using base map as 'Empty (Mercator)'.
When i am changing base map as 'Default Server Rendered', I can see 'Puerto Rico' country. But that is not happening in the case of 'Mercator'. We cannot change the base map.
In case of 'Default Rendered' map 'Puerto Rico' is coming as below:
How can we get rid of this issue?
Thanks
Dilip Solanki
Hi,
Sorry about that, there is a bug with Oglala Lakota County because of the name changed.
We hope to have fix soon.
Roanoke County in Virginia is working correctly, ='Roanoke County,VA,US:AADM2'
Thanks,
Patric
Hi,
San Juan will show as a bubble if positioned with 'San Juan, PR', the iso code for Puerto Rico.
Adminstrative boundaries 0,1,2 is not included in the standard database but can easily be loaded.
See the attached app.
Thanks,
Patric
Patric,
I think there is not attached app.
I want to understand one thing, in my app I have almost 300 cities, all are plotting properly, for this 'San Juan' I have change this like 'San Juan, PR'.
Thanks. I have checked its working that if I am positioning bubble with 'San Juan, PR'.
So far I was positioning bubble as city name + country name. e.g 'San Juan, Puerto Rico'
Then whats the concern with only San Juan? How to load administrative boundaries for this Puerto Rico.
Thanks
Dilip Solanki
Hi,
For loading admin areas for PR see the app I posted above.
I recommend using the iso code, since Puerto Rico technically is not a country.
That will work also other cities in Puerto Rico.
Thanks,
Patric
Thanks Patric. Will check attached app.
Hi Patric,
I am plotting an area layer(comb key is 'County&State for USA') in qlikview(version 11) geo map.
There are 2 counties not reflecting even after Manual remap(no color reflects). One is Oglala County (in South Dakota state) and other is Roanoke County (in Virginia state). I have tried all possible combinations but nothing worked out. I need some suggestions on this.Could someone help please.
Regards,
Priyamvada
Hi Gautam,
Can you share the exact expression which you are using in area layer?
What is the exact name of your country and state? Sometimes names of country and cities doesn't match with Qlik sense country or states.
Please share so can look and help.
Thanks

HI Dilip,
Thanks for your reply.
I am plotting area layer in Qlikview v11.
I have associated USA states and Counties (I am using Dissolve function to divide the area and key is County&State)with my local Sales regional head and coloring those based on the Sales Region head area. Each and every county is getting associated but Oglala County in South Dakota State and Roanoke County in Virginia state does not show any color (It should show the color for related Sales regional head) and both are white.
Names, I am using for mapping is - Oglala Lakota County and Roanoke County respectively.
Could you help. Thanks.
