Symbols in bubble layer

I was trying to use gif in bubble layer using URL. but the image behaves static on the map. Is there anyway i can have a blinking icon to alert users of map.

Sorry, no, animated image symbols are not supported.

Sorry, still not possible.

You can achieve an animation effect similar to a gif with the QGA Animator. 

Unfortunately the old now() trick doesnt work in the Ajax client.
