Cannot setup multiple workspace connections on Studio

Hi,

I have multiple projects built on Talend Studio. For this new project, I am working on I need to have a separate workspace location.

However, when I try to setup a new local connection, I could not find a 'create new' or a '+' option. I can only edit the existing one (Talend Spash screen --> Manage Connections).

How can I have multiple connections configured so I can easily choose it at startup?

I am using Talend Open Studio 6.4.1 running on a Windows 2016 server.

Hello,

Different workspaces at the same time? You mean you want to use the studio installation shared for multiple users?

Feel free correct us if we misunderstand your requirement.

Best regards

It is for different workspaces. I am the only user.

Let's say I have different projects in different workspace folders and I want to be able to choose between them easily when I start up Talend.

i.e, In the 'Manage connections' screen, I want to be able to choose the connections. But there is no option to add local connections. I can only edit the existing one.

Did you figure out a solution? There seems to be a bug in ESB 6.4 where there is no add button under the connections box.  Thanks.

Answering an old old thread because people still keep ending here thanks to Google:

This is a limitation of the Talend Open Studio, the free version of Talend Studio: it only allows one connection, "Local". All projects are created into that connection's workspace. If user Jack@Company.com has launched Open Studio, the workspace for "Local" connection is locked for him. Susan@Company.com cannot launch Open Studio to access the same projects, because those are in the locked workspace. She has to wait for Jack to log out.

There are tricks to create an environment with Talend open Studio, where two or more users can work on the same project at the same time, but I don't know enough about it to elaborate. Ideas can be found from the Talend community forums.
