Installation requirement

Hi,

We are in the process of setting up Talend OpenStudio for Data Integration 7.3.1.

We needed to setup and configure Oracle as a Source and Target. One question that was not clear from the docs is if we'd require Oracle client to be installed in the Talend server (Linux)? We save our context variables as csv in the Talend server and Test connection fails.

However when we hard code the database setting values in the update database connection, the Oracle connection is successful. Hence we wanted to clarify if Oracle client installation is required in the Talend server.

2.

Also we needed to configure SalesForce connection as source and target and we test with context settings. It fails test connection with the below message -

IOException:com.sforce.ws.ConnectionException. Check authEndpoint. It must contain '/services/Soap/u' authendpoint specified.

The endpoint is specified exactly what it requires from the above message . .still fails.

Hence we needed any of your help.

We sincerely appreciate your kind input.

Thank you

Hello,

Oracle client installation is not required in the Talend server. There might be some wrong setting in your DB connection parameter context file.

If the Export as context option is available for a metadata connection, you can export the connection details to a new context group in the Repository for reuse in other connections or across different Jobs, or reuse variables of an existing context group to set up your metadata connection.

For more information, please have a look at this online documentation about: TalendHelpCenter: Exporting metadata as context and reusing context parameters to set up a connectio...

Best regards
