Move from JDK 8 to JDK 21

We're planning to update our servers from JDK 8 to JDK 21, and I'd like to know if this is safe for Talend Studio 7.3.1 before we do it.

From the official docs, JDK 21 doesn't appear listed as compatible with 7.3.x — most Talend versions only added proper support for newer JDKs starting with later 8.0.x releases.

Questions:

  1. Does anyone run 7.3.1 Jobs on JDK 21 successfully, officially or not?
  2. Do we need to upgrade Talend Studio first, or can we just swap the JDK?
  3. Any common breaking changes to expect (removed APIs, TLS defaults, etc.)?

Thanks for any pointers or shared experience.
