“Network is unavailable, please fix it” and unable to install 3rd party JAR files

I have the same problem as the user in this thread: https://community.talend.com/t5/Installing-and-Upgrading/I-can-t-download-third-party-jar-Files/m-p/...

I get the “Network is unavailable, please fix it” error in V7 and V6.5. In V6.3, the error does not occur but I still get errors trying to download jar files (e.g. "java.lang.Exception: Download jcifs-1.3.0.jar failed!"). I also get a "; nested exception is: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator ... "unable to find valid certification path to request target". In V6, I get timeout errors trying to download the required JAR files.

I tried 6.2 and no luck. Does it matter if I am an Enterprise user? I can't wait days between responses...

Hello,

Sorry for our silence. We do our best to answer as many posts as possible.

Corporate firewalls are always very tricky as it depends on each company. Is there any update for your issue?

Best regards

Sabrina

Hi Sabrina,

No, I haven't received an update from Talend Support yet. Please see above where I am able to download resources but have other issues that are also different based on various Talend versions I use.

Same problem here with the optional packages; and actually there is no apache-curator in https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/archetype-catalog.xml

Why can't I delete my own comments/postings?

Hi @fxd

Contact one of the admin via private message when you want a message to be removed. The issue being that this can remove some context to a thread, we tend to dissuade users from doing that.

Cheers,

Elisa

Sorry, I don't have a support case ID, I'm using the open source version.

But (at least for me), this seems to have been an transient problem, it didn't happen again.

Checking just now, "Install new software" offers a checkbox to install optional packages, checking it an clicking "Finish" results in some progress bar activity, but nothing else (no request to restart or anything else).

Retrying "Install new software" after this does not offer  a checkbox to install optional packages.

I attached the support log.

@sagosto
If you're an enterprise user as you claimed to be, please open a Support case on the Support portal: https://login.talend.com/support-login.php
We couldn't find any support case ID on your email/username.
@fxd
We'll look to your logs shortly. But already have you tried to pause your anti-virus (as a first step)?
