Hi,
after applying a patch to my local Talend Studio (R2021-12-7.3.1), I get the following warning while opening a project:
"[...] Once this new version is applied, you will not be able to open the project in a lower version of Studio".
So my questions is: does every patch cause a migration which is not backwards compatible? I yes, how to you typically deal with this scenario, without updating all Studio installations simultaneously?
Thank you & regards!
Once a project has been updated by an upgrade, older versions of Studio will not be able to access the project. They will be informed when they try to logon next time. At which point they can take the upgrade and will have access straight away.
Obviously this means it is good practice for all developers to regularly update GIT with their work and for all developers to log out at the end of each day. It's not essential, but is good practice to ensure that if someone takes an update, it mitigates for potential issues of lost work. I've never experienced this, but I don't want to claim it is impossible.
With my team we have an understanding that if an update is available, we will agree on a time to take it. We work in multiple timezones, so like to make sure that we are all aware of any changes which will be taking place.
