We are using TIS 5.3.1 for our integration jobs at work and I installed it at home under Mageia Linux 5. I have JDK1.8 installed under Mageia. When I try to launch Talend, the TIS window appears and I was able to select the talend project from SVN. However, when I click the button to open talend, it closes immediately with out any error message. I tried to launch it from command line and it appears that launching of talend crashes and a core dump file is created under the talend directory. I tried with JDK1.6 and I still get the same errors.
I am attaching the core dump file for you to look at. I have tried several linux distros in the past and talend had no issues with any other distros.
Did you install both JDK 1.6 and JDK 1.8 on your machine? Have you tried to uninstall JDK 1.8 to see if it works?
Talend support for Java 8 is only available with v6.0 which will be release over the summer.
I installed JDK1.8 first. When I tried to launch TIS, it crashed which is why I installed JDK1.6. Talend crashed with JDK1.6 also. I will try uninstalling JDK1.8 and see if it helps.
However, as I mentioned earlier, I had TIS working with JDK 1.8 in several other linux distros like Manjaro, Salix, Korora etc.
Thanks,
Balaji.
Hi,
I uninstalled JDK1.8 completely. However, even after uninstalling JDK1.8, I am not able to launch talend. The JDK version that I currently have is JDK1.6.
java -version shows this.
java version "1.6.0_45"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_45-b06)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.45-b01, mixed mode)
