Hello,
I saw on the Talend Release Notes page that from R2024-05, Java 17 will become the only supported version to start most Talend OnPremises modules (list on the aformentioned page).
Could someone confirm/infirm the following statements ?
Hello,
To upgrade to our May 2024 release or future releases, you will need to upgrade to Java 17.
While R2024-05 is being released this May, you can install it later, as well as subsequent releases.
Note, that all future releases will also require a Java 17 environment. So we recommend getting upgraded soon, as Java 17 will be the only supported version to run all artifacts going forward (starting 2025).
Best regards
Sabrina
Hello,
The "Enable Java 17 compatibility" option does not impact the code generated(the code generated is still java 1.8 code).
It impact the scripts file (*.bat , *.sh and *.ps) and may be useful if you are using Talend Studio with JDK 11 but want to run your Job (outside studio) with Java 17.
To run your Data Integration Jobs on a Remote Engine v2.13 onwards, which requires Java 17 to start and uses Java 17 by default for execution.
Here is online documentation about:

Best regards

Thanks for the precision on this specific subject.
