how to configure proxy settings with NTLM authentication

Dear community,

in our company, we have a Talend Data Integration (-> license) and a Talend Open Studio for Master Data Management (-> free) installed on my laptop.

With both versions, I am not able to "install additional packages...", as Talend does not connect to the internet.

Checking the log, I see, that proxy authentication fails. We tried all possible versions of proxy-settings, but nothing seems to work. Not with Talend DI (Version 7.01), nor TOS for MDM (Version 7.1.1).

Our network specialist said, it might be an issue with our proxy authentication, as Java and NTLM is an issue?

Is there anybody, who knows, how to set up Talend behind a proxy with NTLM?

In the Internet Options of Internet Explorer, there is a script for the proxy configuration.

best regards in advance

I just did some more tests. I found a configuration, which seems to find its way to the proxy, but authentication fails. Can anyone explain the following error message to me?

!ENTRY org.talend.platform.logging 2 0 2019-05-02 11:14:59.724
!MESSAGE 2019-05-02 11:14:59,723 WARN org.apache.http.client.protocol.RequestProxyAuthentication - NTLM authentication error: Credentials cannot be used for NTLM authentication: org.apache.http.auth.UsernamePasswordCredentials

After further research, I found out, that the NTLM-issue is an eclipse-issue.

here someone found a solution, but I am not sure, how to implement this in my environment.

Installing a local proxy to go through to the official company proxy cannot be the solution either.

In case someone stumbles upon this post: I got it working by getting my network specialst to implement an exception on the proxy configuration. So, Talend has to go through the proxy, but is allowed anyway.
