When configuring the mail server in Qlik Alerting, the following symptoms are all experienced:
Log files contain a : Global ERROR {"stack":"Error: 10716:error:1425F102:SSL *routines:ssl_choose_client_version:unsupported protocol:*[c:\\ws\\deps\\openssl\\openssl\\ssl\\statem\\statem_lib.c|file:///C://ws//deps//openssl//openssl//ssl//statem//statem_lib.c]:1958:\n","message":"10716:error:1425F102:SSL routines:ssl_choose_client_version:unsupported protocol:[c:\\ws\\deps\\openssl\\openssl\\ssl\\statem\\statem_lib.c|file:///C://ws//deps//openssl//openssl//ssl//statem//statem_lib.c]:1958:\n","library":"SSL routines","function":"ssl_choose_client_version","reason":"unsupported protocol","code":"ESOCKET","command":"CONN"}
Using another software on the same machine, it's possible to send emails via the same mail server.
Upgrade to Qlik Alerting May 2021 (upcoming) to solve this.
Cause
This is an issue on Node.js handling of TLS connections, we added an improvement on Qlik Alerting May 2021 to solve this.
