Qlik ODBC connector package reload issue using the bulk reader feature

With the Qlik Sense August 2021 release, Qlik has introduced a bulk reader reload mode for the Qlik ODBC connector package connectors such as MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, etc...

The bulk reader can be enabled under the Reload Optimization section when creating a database connection.

In the mentioned Qlik Sense version you may encounter data reload issues such as additional truncated values after the reload via the bulk reader feature, as you can see in the following screenshot there are values like "Aust" and "Bra" which have been truncated from the original values "Austria" and "Brazil":

Environment

• Qlik Sense Enterprise August 2021

Resolution

The issue is related to a software defect and has been solved in the Qlik Sense November 2021 version. Please also note that the problem might happen with other connectors within the Qlik ODBC connector package.

 

Workaround:

In order to solve the problem you have the following options:

1. Upgrade Qlik Sense accordingly to version November 2021 or upwards 
2. Just upgrade the  Qlik ODBC connector package version to version November 2021 or upwards 
3. Avoid the bulk reader mode
