Moving QlikView Desktop + Server to Azure Managed Server

Hi,

We are in the process of migrating our QlikView Desktop and Server  to a server managed by Azure. Currently, the Azure server is set up with a test license.

I have a question regarding the transfer of the LIVE license to the new server. Specifically, I would like to know if there is a quarantine period, similar to the license swap process within a single server, and what steps we need to follow to ensure a smooth transition.

Any guidance or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hey @KritznerAdmin ,

  1. You would have to configure your server in Azure using your test license.
  2. Lower the TTL for the DNS entry that points to your QlikView server
  3. Outside business hours, you would apply the PROD license on your Azure server. It is likely that the original server won't go down for a few minutes. The "off-duty" message should appear after a few minutes.
  4. Perform some testing on the Azure server.
  5. Change the DNS to point to the Azure server.
  6. On the old QlikView server, feel free to apply the TEST license.

This way the QlikView URL will point to your Azure server with near zero down-time.

Live and Breathe Qlik & AWS.
