Read data from Excel file

Hi All,

I'm new to Qlik Cloud and I have a question.

I want to read data from Excel file which is on a shared drive into Qlik Cloud. The data in excel files updates daily and i want Qlik cloud app to read latest data without me manually uploading excel file into Qlik cloud as data set.

You need to set up a connection to your shared drive so that Qlik Cloud can connect to it to get the latest version, then schedule a reload of the app every day.

Here are the options to the file locations on the left..

If you know when the file is updated(or even if you do not know) you can schedule a reload

As @Lisa_P  mentioned, the first step is to establish a connection to your shared drive so that Qlik Cloud can access the latest version of the file. Once the connection is set up, you can schedule a daily reload of the app.

If the file name remains consistent and only the data within it updates daily, you can simply use that file in your app and set the reload schedule according to the time the data gets refreshed—just as @robert_mika  suggested.

you will need to install a Qlik Data Gateway locally ad use the file connector to perform the reload.
