1. What is the difference b/w Qlik data gateway and Qlik data transfer tool?
2. Can both be installed on same server?
3. Any SSL or any certificates necessary to work along with these tools in terms of data security?
1 difference
Data Transfer
Data Gateway
2 installed on same server
Yes they can be installed on the same machine
3 SSL
No thirdparty certificates are needed.
Data Transfer uses an API token, DataGateway creates a key

Hi @Mapuna ,
while it is possible to run the two products on the same machine, there might performance issues due to conflicts, and it's therefore not a supported scenario.
Some might run them on the same machine for testing purposes, but they should not be used together for any actual production or active development purpose.
Please, also note that QDT will eventually be fased out, with full feature parity in the Direct Access gateway.

Thanks for replying.
But for question number 2, contrary to your answer, this is what i read from community:
"Direct Access gateway should be installed on a dedicated Windows Server.Do not install it on the actual database server
or alongside other Qlik products, including but not limited to, Qlik DataTransfer, Qlik Sense Desktop,
and Qlik Sense Enterprise."
any thoughts?

Indeed, from my experience installing them both on the same server does not work properly. I believe folder-support is being released soon for the Data Gateway, therefore the Gateway is preferred above the Transfer Tool from then on.
