Hi, Qlik Data Gateway is the way to go if it meets the need.  It gives you a pull-like experience through to on-prem datasources with no load script changes other than to update your LIB statement.

Qlik Data Transfer is most useful if you have existing folders of QVDs and you need to push them into Qlik Cloud, or perhaps it addresses some connectivity requirement that Qlik Data Gateway doesn't support (roadmap is still being built out).

In all, would look for Qlik Data Gateway to meet the need first, then look at Qlik Data Transfer after that.

Hope that helps

Hello ,

The Data Gateway , has more functionality and is more secure. Review the link and notes below.

1. Data gateways

Note:

Businesses commonly enforce strict firewall policies that block external access to their data sources. This presents a challenge when such businesses need to access their data from the cloud for analytics. Qlik Data Gateway - Direct Access overcomes this challenge by eliminating the need to open inbound firewall ports. Operating behind your organization’s firewall, the Direct Access gateway allows Qlik Sense SaaS applications to securely access behind-the-firewall data, over a strictly outbound, encrypted, and mutually authenticated connection.

2. Installing Qlik DataTransfer

Note : Qlik DataTransfer supports encrypted communications but is not FIPS compliant (Federal Information Processing Standards). Qlik Sense Enterprise SaaS - Government (US) users can use it in their implementation pending their own risk review.
