On-demand report download in SaaS

Hi all

Our client has on-prem Qlik Sense and NPrinting. Today, they use the on-demand button to download reports generated in NPrinting. They are now considering migrating to Qlik Sense SaaS and that means retiring NPrinting.

How can on-demand reporting be achieved in Qlik Sense SaaS?

Requirements:

  • The user must be able to download the report in pdf format when it is suitable for them (on demand).
  • Each user must be able to customize the reports by selecting in fields.
  • The report must be delivered only to the user that ordered it.
  • The report has several visualizations and text neatly put together and must look good.

As for the "The user must be able to download the report in pdf format when it is suitable for them (on demand).", you can just store the reports on any place of your choice (Sharepoint, Dropbox, and so on) for the user to download.

Thank you @Daniele_Purrone ! I will certainly look more into this.

As for the "The user must be able to download the report in pdf format when it is suitable for them (on demand).", you can just store the reports on any place of your choice (Sharepoint, Dropbox, and so on) for the user to download.

Sorry for the confusion, the point here is that the report is generated when the user decides the data is ready. The users first need to verify that the data quality is good enough.

In your first two links, I need to find out whether the automation can send the report by email only to the user that triggered it. Alternatively, they will need to find it in sharepoint with a filename depending on the selections made and time of report generation. Or maybe there are some other clever ideas.
