Accessing Data, Dataset Size Limit on each App

Hey, I am new to qlik and I have been doing some research about its licensing and storage capacity. This might be dumb questions but can someone please help!!

1. It says that Qlik uses an associative, in-memory model for analysis. From what I understand Power BI also uses in-memory model if we import the dataset, isnt that similar?

2. But, In power BI we can also access the data directly from source without loading into its cache memory. Isnt there something same for Qlik. Or is data gateway- direct access similar to that? Does Direct access load data into memory?

3. There are a few licenses in Qlik, Is there any size limit on the dataset of each app. Power BI also has licenses and the max app size varies based on license. Is there something similar in Qlik?

4. I have read somewhere that the size of dataset/ number of rows depends on the memory available. But, there has to be a limit for each dataset on an app, right?

5. If my data is more that 10 or 100 TB. Can even qlik load those data into memory. (Please dont say organization ususally breaks down data by dept, what is each dept data is around 10TB. How will Qlik handle it?)

6. If I am using client managed instead of SAAS, where will my reports be hosted? Power BI has something called Power BI Report Server to host Power BI reports locally.

Many interesting questions. I'll start answering some.

1)

Both Qlik and Power BI use in-memory models. The big difference is that only Qlik uses an associative model https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-m0_8dT3XM

2)

Yes, you can use direct query or ODAG

With Qlik Sense client managed your apps are on your own server. The server can be in your company or on a virtual machine in the cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure). If I remember correctly with Qlik Sense client managed there are no app size limits, the limits are defined by the capacity (CPU, RAM, disk space) of your server or cluster of server.
