Hi there,
Now that Qlik Sense has been out a week there has been quite a lot of discussion about the tool, how it sits alongside QlikView and how we can start getting the best out of it.
I have put together a blog post that links out to some of the content that has been created around Qlik Source, and gives my thoughts on the product also.
Hope you find it useful.
Steve
Thanks for this Steve, great blog post!
Thanks Steve - very helpful.
Hi Steve,
Wish to get your expert view on Qlik Sense.
What are the areas that you think Qlik Sense should improve ?
Thanx
Hi Senarath,
I think it is too early to say too much - as it's going to be the server implementation of Sense that is going to be the proof of whether it is a truly excellent product or not. From what can be seen from the Desktop edition it is looking good though - I have been enjoying creating things in Sense. Qlik getting the licencing model right will also be critical.
Obviously there are a lot of things that QlikView can do that Qlik Sense can't at the moment. Henric Cronström has indicated that some of these features will come across in time. The fact that there are some things that Sense can't do that QlikView can however keeps the distinction of what the different products are for. It's not necessarily that Sense should "improve" by having these features added - rather people should chose the right product for their needs.
In fact - I would spin it the other way around, that QlikView should improve to be more web-centric and have the latest charting features. This would then make the overall Qlik offering even more compelling.
Hope that gives you what you were looking for?
Steve
