Creating a monthly total from daily data

I have data which is broken down by the day but I'd like to show a bar chart which sums up and gives a total for Jan, Feb etc rather than the individual figures for every day of Jan, Feb etc. This is the first time I've used QlikSense I'm sure it's very easy but need some help to get started! Thanks in advance.

If you have a month dimension, then just use that as your dimension and use Sum(Sales) as your expression. If you don't have month as a field, then use Month(Date) as your calculated dimension and again use Sum(Sales) as your expression.
