Difference between Qlik Sence Server and QlikView Server

Hi ,

I am confused with these two products QliK Sence server and QlikView Server .

Is QlikView Server license can be used for QlikSence , and what about CALs in Qlikview Server.

Hi Agnivesh,

Thank you for the post. Below is the answer if I have understood your question clearly.

1- QlikView and Qlik Sense address different user cases, it actually depends on your requirement.

QlikView is a Build/Develop and Deploy solution, on the other hand Qlik Sense provides self service visualizations by using loading data, dragging and dropping fields and charts. Users are trained to perform such activities in Qlik Sense.

2- QlikView licenses are known as CAL's and Qlik Sense has Tokens.

Yes, QlikView license portfolio can be moved to Qlik Sense which is in migration plan. I will highly recommend you to contact your nearest Qlik partner.

Regards

Advait

The licenses may not be shared between the products, separate licences must be purchased.

Qlik Sense Server does not require a license for the Server component. But to to be useful you must purchase some User Tokens for access to the server.

QlikView Server CALs may only be used with QlikView, they cannot be used on a Qlik Sense server as Tokens.

Thanks Advait ,

I have a doubt in your second point .

You mean to say that we can use QlikView CAL's in QlikSense Server also .

Hello Agnivesh,

As per my knowledge its Yes. If you are planning to migrate from QlikView to Qlik Sense then definitely yes, customers can move QlikView license portfolio to Qlik Sense.

As Sir Rob mentioned above, you may also refer to Qlik Sense Support FAQ's Page no 10.
