Dollar-sign expansions - Maximum number of expansions

Hello,

Is there an upper limit to the number of dollar expansions in an App?

The help is not particularly clear:

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/November2018/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/Scripting/dollar-sig...

It says:

A dollar-sign expansion is limited in how many expansions it can calculate. Any expansion over 1000 will not be calculated.

Does this mean that the app is limited to a 1000 expansions or that one nested expansion is limited to 1000 nestings?

This is quite important as I am importing lots of expressions via excel and use dollar sign expansion in the charts and also within the formulas themselves, and it is very likely that I will exceed 1000 dollar sign expansions.

Thanks,

Colin

I'm sure they mean 1000 nestings.

Hi!

Thank you for pointing this out. We've created an improvement task in order to clarify this in the documentation.

@kio Where do we report bugs in documentation?  Is that a support case or is there some other channel?

The more clear note would be A dollar-sign expansion is limited in how many nested expansions it can calculate.

As @kio wrote we will improve this in the documentation.

One option for reporting bugs in the documentation is of course opening a support case, but you can also leave feedback and improvement suggestions on help.qlik.com:

Scroll down to the bottom of the page in question, and you'll see the text
"Did this information help you?" and Yes and No buttons.

Press No, and write your feedback/suggestion, then press Send.

Thanks for that tip. I was looking for an easier way to flag minor doc errors than opening a support case. This is useful.
