EBCDIC & Packed decimal - can we import ?

I had a request wether it is possible to import Packed decimal file formats in Qlik ?  Until now I have mostly worked with DB2 tables or other usual file formats , but never with this type of 'older' formats. Tried to click on the files with the 'data connector' but this only showed bizarre signs even when using EBCDIC ...

Think there may be 2 things at play

(1) the conversion of EBCID to actual readible data ( probably to be fixed by selecting the correct 'Character settings' in the import

(2) possibly the largest issue , the recognition of the Packed decimal file structure (start, length , end of field ... ). Can QS handle packed decimal file structure or is it possible to upload data with some kind of pre-defined seperate file format   ?

Not sure if my question is entirely clear .... but hope so 😉

Or if it is possible to import data with some kind of data formatter file that
