Hello there,
I have a straight table with one dimension on the left and numerous measures to the right.
Due to the numerous measures, a horizontal scroll bar is required to view to the measures on the very right.
Toggling "Freeze First column" on, i expected the first column, i.e. the dimension to stay visible when scrolling right. Instead, it moves off the screen when using the scroll bar.
How can i ensure that the first dimension is always visible when scrolling right?
Thanks,
Colin
The solution is to set Touch Screen mode to off (Top left corner in drop down menu).
Using Freeze First Column does change how the table is navigated.
The screen horizontal scroll bar is no longer always shown (a feature of excel.... and something most are familiar with)
Instead the user must hover their mouse over the table and:
a: Use the direction arrows or
b: scroll the mouse button to show the scroll bars (both horizontal and vertical)
So yes, its a solution, but not perfect
Freezing the first column does exactly what you describe as the expected result - it freezes the first column with the scroll bar only impacting columns 2+. If you're seeing something else, perhaps this is a bug, or something else is not as expected?
Hi, unfortunately it doesn't do "what it says on the tin".
Toggling "freeze first column" has no impact on the table at all that i can see.
The first column scrolls left and off the visible part of the table, whether it is a toggled on or not.
I tested this with a couple of my own apps and in both cases, the first field (dimension) was frozen, as expected - that's why I think your specific case might either be an unusual setup or a bug. I'd suggest you contact support and have them look at it...
Thanks for the confirmation.
I've tried a few apps on different environments and no luck.
Will drop support a line
