Grand Total imported as Dimension?

Hi All,

I am performing my first import using Qlik as I am keen to compare functionality with what I have used in the past being Tableau.

See screenshot below. I simply cannot find the reason why my Grand Total field is being imported as a Dimension? What is even more baffling, this particular field does not display the drop down button next to (Dimension) to convert it to a Measure similar to the second screenshot provided.

Many of the other numeric fields are able to be changed from Measure to Dimension and vice versa, but this one column does not give me the option? Any suggestions very much appreciated.

There must be some values in there that are not numbers, so it is detected as a string

Thanks for the reply. I did think this might be the case, but there are no text fields when I scroll through the distinct values list, screenshot attached of the list I am referring to.

Is there no way to force the detection on import to what you need it to be - either a dimension or a measure? Also, as this is a live connection to a MySQL database, even if I found an incorrect field I can't easily deal with it to correct or remove it anyway?  Any further help much appreciated.

create a filter pane on a sheet and scroll through the values to see what else is in there

I have done as you suggested and even attached the exported filter pane to show the results. As you can see, there is no text fields?

If I load these values in to Qlik Sense, they automatically detect as numbers. There are 618 distinct values in this list, but your original screenshot showed 620 distinct values, I wonder what these other 2 are ?
