Have Qlik shot themselves in the foot by discontinuing the Qlik Sense Desktop free edition? I am trying to understand their logic behind this decision

Have Qlik shot themselves in the foot with this decision to discontinue providing Qlik Sense Desktop for free? I am trying to understand their logic behind making this decision. Other than making money by making all the free users pay, I can't see much more beyond that. The free edition was a great way to illustrate the product and learn about the product, associative engine but they are now taking it away. It frankly seems stupid move to me but I'd love to know the thoughts of this community especially from fellow experienced Qlik users or experienced BI people, maybe I missed a point of view.

Hi @banhoagni , from my perspective, Qlik has been evolving continuisly since its creation, and the needs that qlik covers , are mostly related to companies seeking for exellence in data treatment and data delivery, to helps make accurate and informed decisions, no matter the technology or data level of each company , so Qlik is free as you said, for a while if you want to test it and corroborate that its going to be a usefull BI platform for your organization.
