HierarchyBelongsTo data type requirement

Hello,

I am using the normally excellent HierarchyBelongsTo function, but in this case, my AncestorID is returning a '?' for every row, or it flattens the results out so that every employee shows up as their own manager. There is a definitely a value in the source table, but it doesn't seem to be accepting it. Does the AncestorID have to be a numeric/integer? In this particular dataset, it is a six-digit string value, with leading zeros where needed.

Thanks in advance,

Chris
